  3.  How exactly would the treatment look like
  4.  What exactly is dental phobia
  5.  How many people suffer from dental anxiety
  6.  What is special about Sensitive Dentists
  7.  Fear from dentists, what can I do

Zu 1.) No, our treatment is not covered by one's medical insurance. You will be treated as a private patient and have to pay the treatment on your own.

Zu 2.) The first appointment is absolutely non-binding. At the first appointment we would like to get to know you and your situation to find out more about the reasons for your dental fear and to learn more about your current dental problems. In doing so, the first appointment will be a pure conversation, without any treatment to your teeth. In this conversation we would like to find out how you image your teeth and we will show you all possibilities of a successful treatment. At the same time, we of course have to talk about the budget for the treatment. At least we will take a radiogram of your denture.

Zu 3.) First of all we would like to offer you a telephone interview with Dr. Erich Unterhuber where you have the opportunity to talk about your situation and to ask any question you are interessted in.

If then should be interested in our services, we would likt o invite you to a first appointment which could be at any of your locations. There you will meet Dr. Unterhuber again. This first appointment will be a pure conversation to find out more about the situation of your denture and we will take a radiogram of your denture.

Based on the radiogram, your expectations of the treatment and your budget for the treatment, we will work out a treatment proposal and a cost plan which will be send to you within the next days.

The second appointment is the treatment which is generally carried out under general anaesthesia as an outpatient. Within this appointment as possible all your dental problems should be corrected.

The patient comes to the last appointment to get his new prosthesis. In general this is possible without any further anaesthesia as patients have usually lost their phobic reactions at this point of time.

At the end of our treatment your denture is completely reconstructed and it is likely that you overcame your dental fear so that you can go to the dentist for routine examination in the future.

Zu 4.) Dental phobia is a special phobia and belongs to a group of simple phobias (Jöhren, 1999). Besides the great extend of their fear dental phobic patients distinguish themselves from dental anxiety patients through the fact that they completely avoid the visit to the dentist, ofter for many years.

Zu 5.) Up to 20% of the population suffers from dental anxiety.

Zu 6.) It is experience that characterizes Sensitive Dentists. All our Dentists have great experience in the treatment of dental phobic patients. They have learned how to deal with the fear of there patients. This begins with special negotiation techniques that enables them to create a situation of trust with their patients and to find out more about the reasons for their fears. And ends with special treatment techniques that enable a smooth and sensitive procedure of the treatment.

Zu 7.) The first step you have already done, you deal with the subject. For the next step we can offer you two possibilites. Either you fill out our phobia selftest which is free of charge or you call us for further information. We would like to help you!
